Storyline

Pierre Braunberger, Anatole Dauman, Robert Dorfmann, the brothers Hakim, Mag Bodard, Alain Poiré, Pierre Cottrell, Albina du Boisrouvray, Jacques Perrin and many more - They always worked in the backstage and stayed unknown to the larger public. However they have produced movies we all know. Autodidacts, passionate, gamblers, they financed the cinema with an exceptional inventive talent in a time when TV or public funding didn't exist. The documentary series put into light those men and women in between the postwar period and the 70ies, who produced movies which affect generations of spectators till today.
