Storyline

From Project K-9 Hero and GAC Family, it's the first-ever K-9 Hero Awards. A night of celebration, honoring the selfless acts of courage from our hardest working military and law enforcement teams. Working in service of our community, these K-9 teams are dedicated to keep us safe. Their heroics in the line of duty are unmatched, and all too often, unseen. Larissa Wohl and James Craigmyle host this award ceremony honoring exceptional working dogs in seven specialized categories: Patrol Apprehension, Narcotics Detection, Explosives Detection, Firearms Detection, Search and Rescue, Accelerant Detection, And Tracking and Trailing. We share stories from these inspiring working dogs and shine a light on canine heroes that have risked their lives in the line of duty to save ours. Each of our courageous recipients will be honored with a special award that reflects our thanks, respect, and love for them and the work they do. And when it is time for them to retire from service, Project K-9 Hero sees that these canines continue to thrive, providing complimentary food and medical care for life so that each of these heroes will enjoy a healthy happy retirement they so richly deserve.
