About this title

Storyline

Cast as sisters in their first feature film, actors Britt Harris and Molly Muse first became friends in Portland, Oregon on the set of Steven Richter's critically acclaimed 2015 film, Birds of Neptune. The subsequent festival run (Slamdance, Arizona International, Mostra São Paulo, and others) introduced them to a diversity of talented up-and-coming filmmakers who inspired them to create the fresh new Docu-series, Jump the Fence: Around the World in Seven Films. In the series, Harris and Muse reunite with these artists as actors in new independent film projects. First stop, Brazil! In this inaugural installment of Jump the Fence, Harris and Muse trek to Caraíva, Bahía, to join Brazilian Director Ale Paschoalini (Asco, Trato De Levante) for the making of his next feature film, Raízes. Delightfully scored by Mark Orton (Nebraska, The Good Girl, My Old Lady), Jump the Fence: Brazil is beautifully set in a lush village between river and sea. But don't get too comfortable. Time is the enemy in this red-eyed adventure in no-budget filmmaking as a small cast and skeleton crew battles chaos, the natural elements, and sometimes each other to get the film in the can. High-pressure, hypnotic, weirdly tense and surprisingly funny; you'll be rooting for the team to cross the finish line before the clock runs them all down. The series is born of a scrappy, collaborative spirit that states: don't wait to get rich, don't let obstacles stop you, follow through and make it count. Jump the Fence!
