Storyline

Game shows have come a long way from the simple question-and-answer formats when the genre began decades ago, as evidenced by "Hellevator." The game show-horror hybrid puts a team of friends on a haunted elevator that is lowered into the depths of an abandoned slaughterhouse. One player gets out on each floor and must complete a challenge to earn money for the team and get back on the elevator. If he or she doesn't make it back in time, the elevator moves on without the contestant. Whichever players survive the first three challenges move on to the final challenge, during which they must work together to conquer the most difficult and terrifying challenge yet. If successful with everything, a team can win up to $50,000. Pulling the strings behind the scenes are horror-film producers Jen and Sylvia Soska, who are appropriately known as the Twisted Twins. Executive producer Jason Blum's horror pedigree includes the "Paranormal Activity" film franchise.
