Britain's Treasure Islands

Storyline

British geographer Stewart McPherson explores all 14 of the United Kingdom's overseas territories in this documentary. The host travels by RAF planes, freight vessels, ice breakers and a Royal Mail postal ship as he makes the 70,000 kilometre journey spanning the globe. Along the way McPherson discovers the wildlife of these regions, meets the people that live there and discusses the history and culture of these little-known islands. The territories - seven times the land area of the British Isles - consist of exotic landscapes including deserts, rainforests, coral reefs, volcanoes, and glaciers.
