Storyline
One of the most thrilling and turbulent episodes in the history of Brazil is masterfully portrayed in this TV mini-series, with the direction of Jayme Monjardim. In this epic story about the Farroupilha Revolution (a civil war that broke out in southern Brazil between 1835 and 1845), the seven women of Bento Gonçalves' (Werner Schünemann) family - leader of the 'farrapos' (tatters - as the revolutionary men were called, because of their poor and tatterd clothing) - are witnesses and protagonists of a war that will leave deep scars in their lives. Among vigorous battles and historical characters, like Mr. and Mrs. Garibaldi: Giuseppe (Thiago Lacerda) and Anita (Giovanna Antonelli), they alter between dramatic situations and moments of pure magic. A Casa das Sete Mulheres (The House of the Seven Women) is a story of loves and clashes that will conquer your heart outright.
