Storyline

A prison in rural Russia is the setting for this grim tale. Dennis Warren, an artist, is thrown in jail despite his innocence. He is wrongly accused of raping a woman, and his only way out is to pay off the warden and the prosecutor. The deep roots of corruption in Russian society collide with American idealism.
