Storyline

Each season exist as a stand alone journey that zero in on high points of the hero, the antagonist, love interest and companion. Their journeys has unexpected twists with intricate challenges throughout the plot of the story-line. The episodes work together to offer a larger narrative intertwining mental illness and drug addiction. The core of the show encompasses the federal investigation of a mentally-ill narcotics-trafficker Adonis Blackwell, who becomes responsible for a fatal opioid epidemic. In the first story-arc, some characters progress throughout the seasons while others have their stories resolved in a single season. Season 1 The first season is a vivid encounter inside the lives and minds of the characters. It explores the failed "War on Drugs" and a collapsing health-care system that neglects those who pledged allegiance to the flag, but that same flag hasn't pledged allegiance to them. Mentally-ill narcotics-trafficker Adonis Blackwell (Anwan Glover) psychologically struggles from the lost of his father Lloyd Blackwell (Michael Wright). When he was nine-years-old, he discovered his father dead in the bathroom with the needle still in his arm. As he grows older, his life becomes dysfunctional while struggling with his mental issues. His deepest desire is to be on top of the food chain, but obstacles mount in the process. Season 2 The second season introduces law enforcement. A federal investigation is triggered when a deadly mixture of heroin and fentanyl claims thousands of lives nationwide. The President of the United States declares an opioid crises when an Oscar-winning actor is found dead with the "needle still in his arm." FBI Special Agent Andrew Schaefer starts investigating the schizophrenic narco-trafficker, Adonis Blackwell.
