The Canine Condition

Storyline

The Canine Condition is a DOGumentary series inspired by the first dog we adopted, Dublin, a female Pit/Great Dane mix, from a dog shelter in Los Angeles. Seeing how many dogs were left behind when we picked picked her up was heartbreaking. Scared, nervous and sometimes injured, these dogs lay on cold concrete floors, behind bars waiting for a chance to get noticed. We needed to know why this alarming scenario is so prevalent in the United States and what we can do to change it. This documentary series focuses on the people we meet who are taking action to improve the Canine Condition in this country. In each episode, the viewer will come to understand the difficult process from rescue to redemption, but will be left feeling hopeful, inspired and empowered. Each episode is a self-contained story where we visit a dog rescue organization to highlight the work the volunteers do and tell the stories of rescued dogs who not surprisingly, are also rescuing humans. We take the viewer on a journey with us for 6 episodes each season. Each 10-15 minute episode will focus on a different dog rescue organization in the United States. Each organization has its own unique approach or expertise for improving the condition of abandoned, abused and neglected dogs in this country. Having gained the trust of dog rescue organizations around the United States, we go behind the scenes to get a real look into the canine condition in this country. We become actively involved (sometimes with hidden cameras) in the rescue missions. We aid the volunteers working to address the problem of dog homelessness everywhere we go while witnessing the human transformations in the process. With endless fascinating stories to explore and more states to cover, we see how this journey is also about improving the human condition. There is hope that we can end dog homelessness, abuse and neglect in the United States one day. Embark on this journey with us and let's save HUman's best friend together.
