Storyline

A two-part film from the period of Thirty Years' War about John Amos Comenius. He impresses Queen Kristina of Sweden with the weight of his scientific and moral authority in the hope that with her help he will break the imperial feudal-clerical power in Prague and thus restore Czech independence. Despite the expected help, John Amos Comenius later discovers that the Czech nation remains alone in its struggle for independence from imperial feudal-clerical power.
