Sons Of Winter

Storyline

"Sons of Winter" documents the epic journey of brothers Dale and Shane Barks, who attempt to survive for 90 days in the wild of Northern Saskatchewan during the winter. They hunt for food, establish trapping areas, and battle the elements and other dangers prevalent in the backcountry. The trip marks an initiation rite for Dale, 20, and Shane, 19, as they undergo a "boys to woodsmen" transition in a place so isolated, the nearest hospital is days away. Meanwhile, parents Randy and Tara and younger brother Kole must adapt to survive the subarctic Saskatchewan winter without Dale and Shane there to help run traplines and trade animal meat and fur for basic life necessities.
