This weekly music series, hosted by Merv Griffin, was seen Saturdays at 5:30 PM EST on NBC TV, two hours earlier than the recently canceled ABC "Dick Clark Saturday Night Beechnut Show"(1958-60). With the same sponsor, "Beechnut Gum", NBC sought to pick up on the audience that The Saturday Dick Clark Show left behind. The series presented live Pop and R n R acts performing to a teen studio audience. The NBC Orchestra backed up the performers who didn't have their own instrumental accompaniment.
