Produced by Avanti Groupe (On call 24/7 and 180 days), Police en service plunges us into the heart of the daily life of police officers. Unlike other series of the same genre, we follow not only patrolled, but also investigators, sergeants, lieutenants and civilians working in various sectors: family crimes unit, unit for sexual exploitation of minors , judicial identity, sexual assault unit, canine unit, 911, integrated anti-pimping team and youth intervention section. By their side, we perceive the different sides of the profession, but we especially discover men and women who have their profession at heart and who want to make its many facets known. In eight 45-minute episodes, the new series directed by Catherine Proulx (who is part of the production team of De grade 24/7 and who directed the documentary and podcast Trafic) puts humans on the screen. She explores the relationships between brothers and sisters, but also between police officers and citizens. Police en service takes care to present the social issues facing police officers, including mental health, which occupies an enormous and ever-increasing place in their daily lives. The series serves to demystify their profession and aims to make people understand what it means for a man or a woman to be a police officer by showing both their will and their vulnerability, but above all, their commitment.
