Storyline

Season 1 The Fire Chapter There is a period of peace in Ninjago City and the Ninja see this as an opportunity to relax. However, they get carried away and without realizing, they become soft and lazy. After being defeated in combat by Master Wu, they meet reluctant explorer Clutch Powers and they explore an ancient pyramid with him, in an attempt to get back in shape. While exploring the pyramid, they accidentally free Aspheera, a Serpentine sorceress who had been entombed in the pyramid for thousands of years. Aspheera absorbs Kai's fire power and traps the Ninja in the pyramid. She also launches Clutch Powers back to Ninjago City with a fireball. With her newly acquired powers, she reanimates her army and heads to Ninjago City in order to find "the treacherous deceiver" who locked her in the tomb. Meanwhile the Ninja manage to escape the pyramid and arrive at Ninjago City as well. They face Aspheera who now wields a powerful weapon, the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu and they get defeated once more. They decide to split up with Kai, Jay and Cole visiting the Serpentine to find who the deceiver is and Lloyd, Nya and Zane heading to the Explorers Club in order to find the second Scroll. Kai, Jay and Cole realize that the deceiver is actually Wu and they go to the Monastery to protect him. Aspheera sieges the Monastery but Lloyd, Nya and Zane join the fight with the second Scroll. Zane manages to freeze Aspheera but she blasts him with the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu. Aspheera is then imprisoned and Wu visits her, only to find out that Zane isn't dead but banished in the distant Never-Realm. After defeating their master in combat, the Ninja use the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu and travel to the Never-Realm in order to save their friend.
