About this title
Storyline
A two-part adaptation of John Meade Falkner's novel starring Ray Winstone and Aneurin Barnard, `Moonfleet' tells the story of a band of smugglers led by Elzevir Block, and the efforts of young John Trenchard to join them. The hunt for a fabled lost diamond takes the gang from 18th-century Dorset to the jewel quarter of The Hague and out to a gripping, final sea voyage. Also part of the cast is newcomer Sophie Cookson as John's first love, Grace, who is also the daughter of Moonfleet's anti-smuggling magistrate, Mohune, played by Ben Chaplin. Lorcan Cranitch and Anthony Ofoegbu appear as Elzevir's fellow smugglers, Meech and Loder, respectively.
