About this title

Storyline

Inspired by actual events in producer Pamela S. K. Glasner's family, this TV series is based on the her award-winning film of the same name, which features the late Hollywood icon, Mr. Mickey Rooney. Each episode features an in-depth examination of a real-life victim and their family, as well as interviews with experts who discuss what the families could have done to protect themselves from the perpetrators, where their vulnerabilities were, and what others should be on the look-out for so it does not happen to them or those they love and/or those they are caring for. Experts discuss such key issues as victim profiles, the perpetrators' modus operandi, the symptoms and effects of these crimes, as well as potential solutions to this ever-increasing worldwide epidemic. While there are 73 million Baby Boomers (1946-1964) and 23 million Silent Generationers (1928-1945) in the US, these crimes not limited to the elderly - they can actually happen to any vulnerable person. Americans need to face the fact that wherever there are people with money, there are others laying in wait to take it. While the producers of this show don't walk around believing that the world is a horrible place to live, the fact remains that people do need to have their eyes wide open and their senses alert, because 'Hope' is not a sound financial strategy-or a good life plan. We all need to arm themselves, we need to learn to pay attention. We need to ask questions and initiate conversations that may well be uncomfortable. We need to educate ourselves and our loved ones, and then take that information and pass it on to the next person. The producers hope to shine a light on this global problem, maybe even make waves in the communities where the rights of seniors are not being protected or defended by the public servants and law enforcement officials who are charged with that responsibility.
