Storyline

This miniseries is a fiction about the history of Ana of Mendoza, a woman ahead of her time and who was the center of attention at the court of Felipe II. After giving birth to 10 children and being widowed, she lived a passionate love story with Antonio Pérez, the king's secretary. Felipe II, mad with jealousy and feeling cheated and betrayed by the Princess of Eboli, ended with her in the most cruel way. The romance she maintained with Antonio Pérez rescued Ana from the quiet life she led, allowed her to be herself and to demonstrate against the morals of her time, and even against the monarch, over whom Ana had great influence that she did not hesitate to use to interfere in state decisions.
