Storyline

Robin and John are just common thieves enjoying their simple life in Sherwood Forest without a care in the world but all that changes when they meet Marian. Marian is amazed to have met the famous Robin Hood and Little John, the legendary thieves who still from the rich to give to the poor. A confused Robin asks John if he happens to know anything about this tale to which John reveals that he may have made it up to impress a girl. Robin lets Marian know that the stories aren't true. They don't steal to give to the poor, there is no band of Merry Men, and they aren't heroes. Just thieves. Having become somewhat infatuated with Marian though and seeing her disappointment, Robin decides that they could go along with the story exclaiming that it could be fun. Weeks pass however with no castle gold having been reclaimed for the people and Marian grows tired. She erupts on Robin and John who admit they have no clue how to steal kingdom gold. She informs them that there are transports that move through Sherwood Forest to the castle twice a week and this is where to steal the gold. In agreement, Robin and John commit their first heist which goes perfectly as planned leaving the two castle guards, Smith and Williamson knocked out in the dirt. Several months later, Robin and John have given nearly half the gold back to the people of Nottingham. Marian labels them heroes but Robin denies this stating that they are just thieves for the people now. John leaves to Nottingham with their latest spoils and to buy himself a drink. Marian and Robin are left alone. The romantic tension is obvious but neither makes a move instead Robin suggests another heist however let's Marian know that it's harder to steal the gold now. The guards are getting smarter. Marian suggests a new plan. Later on, Robin approaches John who is less than thrilled about the plan but agrees it is good. They leave their burrow and hatch the plan on the King's Road. Robin and John are revealed in ladies dresses and cheap wigs, disguising themselves as women. They see Smith and Williamson approach and act their heart out as distressed villagers. The two guards approach thinking that today is their day to get lucky and try to assist the two "women". While Robin distracts them, John approaches from behind to steal the gold however sneezes alerting the guards. Robin and John reveal themselves and a fight breaks out which they win. They take the gold and leave after changing into the guards uniforms. While walking away, Robin exclaims to John that maybe they are heroes. Smith and Williamson walk through Sherwood wearing Robin and John's dresses. Before they make it to the castle they find Prince John waiting for them. Prince John is furious and demands to know what has happened to his gold. After a long and frustrating conversation with the two guards he demands that Robin must be captured. Robin, John, and Marian enjoy a break from stealing. John sleeps while Robin teaches Marian how to use a sword. Later on, Robin leaves to go hunting when he comes across a poster promoting an archery competition. He returns to John and Marian with excitement but the others are reluctant and insist it's a trap. Robin ignores them and leaves to sign up. While out, he is knocked out and captured by Williamson. Robin wakes up chain to a tree. He is approached by Prince John who demands to know where his gold is. Robin informs him that he doesn't have it which the Prince refuses to believe. He instructs Williamson to beat the truth out of Robin then leaves. Back at the burrow, John and Marian are worried that Robin has not yet returned. They believe he's been captured and leave to recruit help in saving him. They approach Will Scarlett, Alan A Dale, and Much Miller for their help. Along with John and Marian, the band of Merry Men set out to find Robin. Marian suggests that Robin may be held near the castle. John sends Will to scout ahead. Smith approaches the beaten and bruised Robin to give him food. Robin rejects the food but attempts to appeal to Smith's sympathy. Smith reveals that the only reason he works for Prince John is because he's not capable of much else. Robin tells Smith that he used to believe he was nothing more than a thief and that Smith could do good too if he wanted to. Williamson calls out to Smith who leaves Robin alone. Will returns to the Merry Men to inform them he has found Robin. The band gears up and prepares for a fight. Morning comes and Prince John approaches Robin in one last attempt to find out where his gold is. Unable to gain an answer that satisfies him he instructs Williamson to execute Robin. Williamson is about to strike but stops when he hears a whistle. He turns around to see John, Marian, and the Merry Men. A fight breaks out between the Merry Men and Prince John's guards. Marian approaches Robin and breaks him free. She then kisses him. Robin is stunned but has little time to process the moment. He gathers his bow and quiver and joins the fight. Prince John is about to strike John down when Robin blocks his sword. Robin and Prince John engage in a fight which Robin almost loses before he is able to trip the Prince and aim an arrow towards him. Prince John accepts defeat seeing most of his guards too have been beaten. Robin let's them go knowing that without gold the Prince can do no more harm. Later on, the Merry Men celebrate their victory. Robin is off to one side thinking to himself when Marian approaches. The two have a quick conversation where Robin brings up the kiss from earlier. Robin then kisses Marian and the two romantically embrace. Robin accepts that he will always be a thief but is also a hero. They then join the others and celebrate.
