About this title
Storyline
Produced by the NFB, Canal+ and Sacrebleu, Comic Strip Chronicles is a collection of shorts that celebrates the strong affinity between two art forms: the comic strip and the animated film. Inspired by moments of everyday life, this quartet of three-minute films showcases the playful imaginations of renowned artists from Quebec (Guy Delisle, Zviane) and France (Aude Picault, Lewis Trondheim, Jean Matthieu Tanguy). Beautifully illustrated in each artist's unique visual style, the films find rich subject matter in seemingly unremarkable topics: fatherhood as a work-in-progress, a freewheeling childhood, a group of people in transit, gabby girlfriends. Discover the creativity and wit of five cartoonists-turned-filmmakers who, with a little help from experienced animators, bring their graphic art to the marvelous world of the moving image.
