About this title
Storyline
Written by Jimmy McGovern, Sean Bean stars in this landmark, six-part drama as Father Michael Kerrigan, a Catholic priest who presides over a large Northern parish in England. Not without his own faults, Father Michael must be a confidante, counsellor and confessor to his community as they struggle to reconcile their beliefs in day-to-day life in a modern Britain. When a mother of three's attendance at Church sparks a rather unfortunate chain of events, desperate decisions are made and Father Michael is tasked with helping her while also battling his own past demons.
