About this title
Storyline
The original "info-tainment" news magazine, "A Current Affair" premiered (in syndication) in 1986 and was hosted by veteran journalist Maury Povich. Segments focused on the lurid sex/drugs/rock 'n' roll scandals of the day; religious cults were infiltrated, clandestine/unlawful "meetings" were re-enacted by actors -- all with the sheen of "hard news" courtesy of Povich (and later hosts Maureen O'Boyle and Penny Daniels). The show left the air in 1996, but its original producers resurrected it in the spring of 2005 with former NFL player/practicing lawyer/author Tim Green as host.
