Storyline

And this story began on the day when Aleksey Zakharzhevskiy returned to Leningrad in 1955. He was born and raised in Harbin in the family of an employee of the Chinese Eastern Railway, repatriated after the war with his father to his homeland, went through camps and was rehabilitated. Aleksey came to visit his uncle, Academician Zakharzhevskiy. The academician met his nephew together with his young wife Ada. Ada's mother, Anna Davydovna, a hereditary witch, also lives in the academician's family. On the very first evening, the women began to take a closer look at Aleksey. To pass on the witchcraft, they needed an heiress girl. The cards predicted that it was Aleksey who should become the father of the future witch.
