XIA GUANG (Xiaguang)

Storyline

In 1945, the 'War of Liberation' broke out as battles raged across China. At that time, the city of Dalian aided by the Soviet Union maintained peace, atleast on the surface. Meanwhile an undercurrent surged, fueled by the Kuomintang reactionaries who watched for their opportunity to destroy the Communist Party's connection with the Soviet Union's Red Army. Our heroine, Gao Daxia, pursued by the enemy for her participation in the 'Anti-Japanese Fire Regiment', is sent back to Dalian by the organization to carry out her new mission. There she unexpectedly meets Fu Jiazhuang, a cadre of the Chinese Communist Party. Both with seemingly very different temperaments, gradually became reliable 'comrades-in-arms' and after several crises, some in comedic calamity, begin to develop a romantic alliance. Gao Daxia, who had been wronged so many times, remains firm in her beliefs. Her focus, bravery and care, help her see through the enemy's plots to lead the local people to a better life in this dramatic, dark-comedy spy series. Ultimately the Kuomintang is overcome in the battle to 'seize the city'. Revolutionary fighters such as Gao Daxia and Fu Jiazhuang dominate in their belief of Communism to eventually eradicate the remaining Kuomintang reactionaries. After many dangerous ordeals, Gao Daxia and Fu Jiazhuang finally seal-the-deal and wed.
