About this title

Storyline

Mollyvale is as lively as it is leafy. And there are lots of leaves in Mollyvale, from the big treehouse where the villagers live in harmonious hustle bustle, all the way to the top of Mort's fuzzy head. Mort is a kind and sensitive soul. He loves tasty things, cuddly things, and building helpful things. He's always tinkering away with tools in his workshop, where he'll try his hand at making anything, especially for a friend in need. And Mort counts everyone as a friend. Mort lives with his family including his little sister, Pop, who thinks big and is always full of plans. Their always-loving, free-ranging parentals include the storytelling, pancake-making Uncle Joe, and salt-of-the-earth hobbyist and dancing enthusiast, Mae. Always by their side is family pet, Raf, who excels at sniffing, sleeping and sneaking off with other people's food. Beep is Mort's very best friend. She lives across the hills in a spaceship full of flashing lights and important buttons. She is a robot from outer space who has made Mollyvale her forever home. Analytical, quizzical and curious, she loves to discover everything she can about her new planet and is constantly full of questions: how does eating work? Is a tree a pet? Why doesn't a dog answer when you ask them things? Beep is fascinated by Mort's organic world of trees, billabongs, and birds. She can't believe everyone helps 'charge their battery' by eating food. How strange! Mort is in awe of Beep's technological gizmos, her rocket blasters, shrinking rays, and sonar dish. But his favourite gadget of all is surely Beep's ability to turn a Mollymelon into a cupcake. Yum. Mollyvale is populated by a cast of colourful, character-filled villagers. From Russell the memory-challenged grassy mound, Clem the wharfie, Glenda the baker, Robin the town thespian, the deep-thinking Reuben, the ever-enthusiastic Olive, the list goes on. One thing the villagers have in common is their shared joie de vivre that makes Mollyvale the best place to live. Together with their family and friends, Beep and Mort solve problems, help each other and experience all sorts of fun and action-packed adventures together. As their friendship continues to blossom, the pair discover that it doesn't matter where you're from or what you're made of. Home is wherever you charge your battery or lay your furry head. And friendship is the greatest power of all. BEEP AND MORT is a Windmill Pictures Production. Created for television by Rosemary Myers and Kaye Weeks.
