Marino Casem created a sustainable, talent-producing football program in the midst of Jackson St. and Grambling, along with the further expansion of integration that all other HBCU teams had to deal with. Not only was Alcorn St. winning, but they produced NFL players and sustained relevancy for decades under his guidance. Archie Cooley inherited a young, lowly funded program in a tiny town in MS. What he created was a high flying passing attack that demanded aggression at every play. He created a program with an identity, and he stuck to that "Gunslinger" mentality.
