Back In Time For The Corner Shop

Storyline

Beginning in the Victorian era, the Ardern family embark on a time-travelling journey through one hundred years of British shop-keeping. Based in a former corner shop in Meersbrook, Sheffield, the family of five all pitch in to help with daily tasks and are joined along the way by presenter Sara Cox and social historian Polly Russell. As they make their way through the decades, they explore how the trade has evolved, from the types of products being sold, to how they sell things, and the impact that societal changes have on their business.
