Storyline

Hariman is a successful businessman. He can't act as the head of the family because he is unable to stand up to his wife, Herawati who is arrogent selfish and measures happiness with the amount of wealth she has.His two step children Rosita and Erdin, tend to side with their mother despite Hariman's efforts to be wise and loving father. When Hariman finds out that Erdin is having relationship with Miranda, a beautiful, snobbish and mannerless girl, Hariman forbids him to mantain the relationship. Herawati however adores Miranda. Hariman wants Erdin to marry his best friend's daughter, Novia a soft hearted and a charming girl. Herawati opposes to the marriage just because Koswara (Novia's father) is a low paid civil servant. But Hariman threatened his wife by telling her that if she ever contradicts his decision, she and both her children will not get the inheritance. Hariman also promises Koswara to make Novia happy. After Novia marries Erdin and lives under the same roof with Herawati, she is far from happiness. In the begining Erdin seems to love her but he is gradually influenced by Herawati. Novia has to face dreadful days. Luckily there was Ricky, Hariman's nephew, who always defends her and hinders the evil deeds of Herawati and Rosita. In another plot of the story, there is also a young couple called Anton and Nita living in disharmony. Anton is really a very responsible husband with a good salary. But Nita is never satisfied. She even objects Anton's sisters (Utari and Karina) living in their house because she thinks that they are only additional mouths to feed. Utari is still in the college while Karina is expecting a baby soon .Karina's husband Yoga is working in Australia. Nita is very strict in governing the family rules. She dosen't let Utari to come and go as she please. Infect when she finds out that Utari is having a relationship with Ricky, she becomes very angry. Meanwhile Yoga whom Karina thought to be a good husband, is having a affair with Sofia. Yoga panics when Sofia's parents till him to marry her immediately because he knows that Karina is having his baby. In the meantime Hariman feels pity for Novia who is treated very bad by Herawati. He feels guilty because he has failed to fulfil his promise to give Novia a happy life. One day when he is coming back from office, he had a very bad accident. He was bought to the hospital but he couldn't survive. Herawati blames Novia for the accident. She says Novia brings bad luck to the family. Herawati, Rosita and Erdin were shocked to know that Hariman gave all the wealth to Novia and Ricky in his last will. Novia who was gentle and kindhearted girl changed into a hardened woman. She is fed up of being treated so badly by her in-laws and her husband. Patience can only endure so much. Novia who met a severe accident, goes through a plastic surgery to remodify her face. She now uses a new face and a new identity-Mayang. With the help of Ricky, who introduce himself as Mayang's assistant, they both teach Herawati, Rosita and Erdin a very good lesson.
