About this title

Storyline

"Fridays" was a live comedy program themed after "Saturday Night Live," but instead of airing in primetime it aired after the local nightly news, usually at midnight EST. The comedy sketches were often quite bizarre, especially those involving Richards or David. It also had musical performances with a much stronger New Wave/punk focus than SNL. Musical guests included the Boomtown Rats (Bob Geldof sang "I Don't Like Mondays"), Split Enz (the Finn brothers sang "I Got You"), and The Clash (Joe Strummer howled out "London Calling").
