Ancient Apocalypse

Storyline

In only 200 years, much of ancient history began to open up to the west. Egyptian hieroglyphics, cuneiform, the Hittites, Sanskrit, then the Mohenjo-Daro ancient Saraswati river civilizations. Simultaneously knowledge of electricity and its role underlying atomic structure and chemistry blossomed. The world began to look like energetic fields and that matter may be a surface coating projected by the slowness of our animal senses. Then psychology appeared, teaching us to question our self-interested paradigms of the world. Ancient Empire models were shaken in the 20th century as the galactic acceleration increased, and this rattling of old windows continues today as the Empire struggles to enforce its hold, but the galactic waves coming in are pulling the carpet out of Old Ways. And how does this prologue relate to this series? I see more and more ancient history and mystery programs appearing. The self-examining eye has been turned back into history, going deeper and deeper into our origins. In the 19th century there was competition between models: catastrophism vs. Uniformitarianism, germ theory vs. terrain theory, promotion that mankind were apelike cavemen only a few thousand years ago, vs. increasing archaeological evidence that high civilizations have come and gone. The paradigm was generally settled and enforced by Empire who wished to promote that we today are at the cutting edge, and thus the Elites must ipso facto be "the best" (aristocracy.) But in reality, we are at the trough and today's Elite are too often kakocrasy ("the worst", most greedy). Now we come to programs like this. They marvel at the destructions such as that which ended the Bronze Age. Cities were leveled. In fact great building stone are found melted, scorched. Theories about drought and mass migrations, earthquakes and even tsunamis that wiped out the Levantine coast civilizations, are true...so far as they go. But melted stones? Columns and walls knocked down as if a giant's hand had swiped them? Some now begin to think in terms of solar activity, perhaps huge CMEs which could create the glass found across the deserts of Egypt. Or asteroids. Typical, yet why don't we listen to the ancients, the myths? When they spoke of gods warring, such as during Troy, they literally meant planets in our sky. Mars and Venus made close approaches to Earth more than once, which shook cultures worldwide. At the same time and period. You can stay snugly inside the cocoon of these cautionary "we don't know" shows...but for the adventuresome, it's time to revisit Velikovsky and those who have undated his initial provisional speculations.
